Oracle Completes Acquisition of Cerner

Oracle Corp. has completed its acquisition of Cerner Corp. for $28.3 billion.

The deal, which was announced in December 2021, gives Oracle access to Cerner's trove of data from one of the largest providers of electronic health records (EHRs) in the United States.

Oracle said the acquisition will help it accelerate its growth in the healthcare sector. Cerner's EHRs are used by more than 27,000 healthcare providers and serve over 325 million patients worldwide.

Oracle plans to integrate Cerner's EHRs with its own cloud-based applications, such as Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM. This will give healthcare providers a more comprehensive view of their patients' health and enable them to make better decisions about their care.

Oracle also plans to invest in Cerner's research and development efforts. This will help Cerner continue to develop innovative new EHRs and other healthcare technologies.

The acquisition of Cerner is a major step forward for Oracle in its quest to become a leader in the healthcare sector. The deal will give Oracle access to a wealth of data and expertise, which it can use to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare for millions of people around the world.
