Information Line for Assessment and Tax Information

Nassau County, New York

516-571-1500

The Nassau County Information Line for Assessment and Tax Information is a resource for residents and businesses to obtain information about their property taxes and assessments. The line is staffed by knowledgeable professionals who can answer questions about the assessment process, tax rates, and exemptions. The Information Line can also provide information about the Land Records Viewer, an online tool that allows users to access assessment roll data for all properties in the county.

The Nassau County assessment roll includes over 423,000 properties with a total value of $264 billion. It is the second largest assessing entity in the State of New York. The assessment roll is used to determine property tax bills, which are mailed to property owners each year. The Information Line can answer questions about the assessment process and provide information about how to appeal an assessment if you believe it is incorrect.

The Clerk's Office also provides property-related services and forms, including:

  • Property tax bills
  • Exemption applications
  • Property tax payment plans
  • Lien searches
