The Dallas Mavericks took a 3-2 lead in the NBA Finals with a 122-112 victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 5 on Monday night at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Luka Dončić led the way for the Mavericks with 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists. Kristaps Porzingis added 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Tim Hardaway Jr. chipped in with 19 points.
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 27 points, while Jaylen Brown added 24 points. Marcus Smart chipped in with 18 points, and Robert Williams III had 10 rebounds.
The Mavericks shot 52.4% from the field, including 46.7% from three-point range. The Celtics shot just 40.7% from the field, including 29.6% from three-point range.
The Mavericks also outrebounded the Celtics 50-34 and had 16 assists to the Celtics' 12.
The Celtics will now need to win Game 6 in Boston on Thursday night to force a Game 7.
